Job Description

6 Month Contract to hire **********

  • 8-10 years of experience with BAS Controls
  • Experience must be from the mission critical environment including data centers, hospitals, or government facilities
  • Prior experience writing Building Automation Systems programs and graphics. Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider, etc.
  • In depth understanding of the Installation, configuration, and commissioning of HVAC control systems including DDC (Direct Digital Controls), sensors, actuators, and controllers
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to successfully pass a BC + DT

Day to Day:

Our Client is seeking a skilled and motivated Controls Technician to join our most trusted energy client's commercial HVAC team. This role is responsible for installing, programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC control systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.

  • You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairs to building-automation-system field cabinets, including communication devices, printed circuit boards, power supplies, electrical/electronic controls, sensors, and transducers.
  • Safely perform point-to-point checkout per department standards, e.g., use multimeter to check continuity and/or resistance of sensors, verifying sensors with calibrated meters, breaking connection at end devices to verify IO channel assignments, verifying valve stroke and fail positions, etc.
  • Mentor lower-level technicians to maintain these standards.
  • Take initiative and responsibility for the checkout of end devices, module configuration, and troubleshooting network related issues.
  • Responsible for the startup of simple to complex automation systems and mechanical equipment.
  • Understands various protocols that may be integrated into the building automation system.
  • Able to make complex program and graphic changes to meet specification and sequence.
  • Communicate technical issues to management, project managers and/or more senior level technicians.
  • Mentors and sets a good example for lower-level technicians.
